Wedding Venues Along California’s Central Coast

I spent the final weeks of 2021 and the start of 2022 with family in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a charming beach town along California’s central coast. Whether you’re local to the area or planning a destination wedding, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind setting with no shortage of scenic views and stunning venues (my husband and I got married here, so I may be biased)! Although a small town, there is a lively arts and entertainment scene, with restaurants and wineries galore. I’m sharing 5 of my preferred wedding venues in the area and if you’re a soon-to-be bride, I’d love to work with you on planning your big day!

Bernardus Lodge & Spa

Surrounded by vineyards and the Santa Lucia Mountains, Bernardus was ranked the #1 resort in Northern California by Condé Nast Traveler in 2021 - and it’s easy to see why! The boutique property is effortlessly elegant with plush accommodations and a top-notch food and beverage program. For weddings with 150 or fewer guests, their rose garden is an idyllic setting reminiscent of European formal gardens, and can be utilized for both your ceremony and reception.

La Playa

Nestled on a quiet street in downtown Carmel moments from the beach, La Playa’s lush courtyard is a beautiful setting for a 100 guest or fewer celebration. I recommend utilizing the private terrace for cocktail hour overlooking the Pacific Ocean!

Stonepine Estate

Set on a 330-acre site in Carmel Valley, this elegant estate offers accommodations in a 1920’s chateau-style house and 4 cottages. Stonepine is the ultimate destination wedding venue for those planning a larger wedding (up to 300 guests) with multiple events throughout the weekend. This property is unique in its ability to act as both a home-base for the wedding party, but also the setting for all of your wedding events.

Pebble Beach Resorts

Scattered along the famed and scenic 17-Mile-Drive overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Pebble Beach is home to 5 properties with a total of 30 spaces to select from! The Beach Club, Lodge and Casa Palmero are my personal favorites, but regardless of the space you choose, you’ll be in excellent hands - Pebble Beach is truly an experience unlike any other.

The Club at Pasadera

The Club at Pasadera’s distinctive hacienda setting with old-world Spanish architecture is a lovely venue for weddings with 150 guests or fewer. Flexibility with the various spaces, as well as food and beverage customization is a huge plus - views overlooking the golf course and Santa Lucia Mountains don’t hurt either!
